ABOUT ME

A self-proclaimed foodie and food connoisseur, hailing from the Derby city, I’m Hallee, like Halle Berry with an extra “e”. Here to bring you on the tastiest deep dives you’ve ever experienced. 

My everlasting relationship with food began young, trailing my father’s footsteps about the kitchen and pitching in a helping hand where I could. Eventually, I graduated to the Thanksgiving menu execution team and the role of his forever sous chef.

My favorite places to draw my culinary inspiration and knowledge from growing up were programs like Iron Chef America, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, F*@k That’s Delicious, Huang’s World, No Reservations, and learning from great chefs and culinary minds. Those like Alex Guarnaschelli, world traveler Samantha Brown, Bobby Flay, Emerald Lagasse Anthony Bourdain, and many more really opened up my mind and taste buds to the world of great cuisine.

Ingredients to a chef are like a palette and canvas to an artist, both yielding beautiful works of art, one undoubtedly much more rewarding. Cooking is such an expressive experience using various techniques, flavors, ingredients, and personal flair to create a delicious masterpiece. You have an expansive range of freedom to experiment and create so many great things in the kitchen.

Each article brings you closer to the food, culture, and world around you. Asking the questions you’ve always wanted to about this culinary cornucopia and introducing new ones that you may have never considered.
